U.S. Internet advertising revenue hit $7.3 billion in the first quarter of 2011, up 23 percent from $5.9 billion in the first quarter of last year, the Interactive Advertising Bureau and Pricewaterhouse Coopers reported Thursday.
That's a first-quarter record.
The Interactive Advertising Bureau, which represents media and technology companies, releases online advertising revenue numbers each quarter. Management consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers compiles the similar data independently based on information from companies that sell advertising on the Internet.
For all of 2010, U.S. Internet advertising revenue totaled $26 billion, IAB reported last month.
